In Whangārei, we are supporting people getting around the city in a safe and sustainable way. Our scooters are often used to see the sights of city and explore it's cultural heritage supporting the Council's active and sustainable transport goals.
The council has been working closely with the team from Beam to ensure that there are clear guidelines and processes in place for use, and public and scooter user safety. Personally, I love using my e-scooter for the work commute since I moved to Whanganui and I really encourage people to come and try a scooter out for themselves.”

Where available in cities, our AI powered Pedestrian Shield technology enables us to control vehicle speed based on the riding surface (i.e. roads vs footpaths), and slow the vehicle when pedestrians are detected.
