[16 Oct  2022] On the 16th of October 2022, Kajang Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Kajang, MPKj) invited Beam Mobility to their bi-weekly Car-Free Day at Taman Tasik Cempaka in Bandar Baru Bangi. Making way for community-oriented activities, MPKj had demarcated  a loop-road spanning 3.5km to make way for zero-emission vehicles and active mobility activities for a day.  We’re thrilled to be providing the residents with a greener option as a much-needed solution to the first and last mile connectivity challenge faced by public transport users.

We are honoured to be given the opportunity to demonstrate how to ride a Beam and the ease of using the app to the public and the team in MPKj. Once fully integrated into the Kajang public transportation ecosystem, our service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with simple steps to activate the e-scooter through our Beam app.

We are excited to see Beam roaming the roads of Kajang and helping them reach their goal to Low Carbon City Bandar Baru Bangi 2035.

Beam in Kajang

• Partnership for Low Carbon: Beam will soon be the city council’s electric micromobility partner and part of the city’s Low Carbon City Bandar Baru Bangi 2035 plan.
• Virtual Docking: Fixed parking docks can be created virtually, using technology and GPS to direct riders to appropriate parking spots through a combination of guidance and incentives.
• Personal Accident Insurance: Every rider will be covered by Beam’s personal accident insurance.
• Beam Safe Academy: The Beam Safe Academy is a in-person safety program that incorporates an interactive safety quiz and a launch briefing guide for new users. Riders are to complete the in-app safety quiz as our means of self-training on safe-riding etiquette.
