Beam partners with The Cultural Icons to offer limited-edition passes and dedicated Beam parking
  • Beam will launch limited edition 3-day Cultural Icon passes to riders visiting the 13 Canberra attractions
  • Dedicated Beam parking spots will be available for rider use at cultural sites

[28 April 2022] Beam and The Cultural Icons will embark on a partnership to encourage exploration of Australia’s 13 key cultural institutions as part of Canberra’s largest cultural campaign.

This partnership sees a limited edition 3-day Cultural Icon pass offered to both tourists and locals from Friday 29 April, encouraging all in Canberra to explore the cultural wonders the city has to offer.

The 3-day Cultural Icons pass costs $24.95 for unlimited rides (up to 120 minutes per day), and is available for purchase within the Beam app.

Exclusive Beam parking spots will also be set up at various Cultural Icons for ease of parking, with the spots prioritised for deployment of Beam’s e-scooters.

Beam General Manager (Australia & New Zealand) Tom Cooper said:

“Canberra is home to some of Australia’s most popular cultural landmarks, and we are thrilled to be partnering with Cultural Icons to facilitate access to both tourists and residents.
“By connecting these landmarks with each other, we aim to not only increase the number of destinations Canberrans and tourists can visit, but provide an eco-friendly and affordable way to get there.
“Whilst we anticipate the Cultural Icon pass to be popular amongst tourists, we encourage resident Canberrans to take the opportunity to explore their own backyard and revisit their city’s Icons.
“We believe that travelling within the city via an e-scooter, with dedicated parking spots at the entrance of each landmark, is the best and easiest way to see all that Canberra has to offer, and we look forward to working with Cultural Icons to promote the cultural heart of the city.”

National Museum of Australia Assistant Director, Public Engagement Mark Goggin said:

“The Cultural Icons initiative showcases Canberra as Australia’s cultural heart, telling the story of Australia across 13 immersive institutions, including the important stories of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
“Nowhere else can you enjoy the depth of experience offered by world-class attractions all located within easy reach of each other.
This unique partnership with Beam makes it even easier for visitors and locals to discover the breadth of experiences offered by Australia’s Cultural Icons while taking in the striking beauty of the National Triangle.”

Australia’s Cultural Icons include the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Australian Parliament House, Australian War Memorial, Museum of Australian Democracy, National Archives of Australia, National Capital Authority, National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, National Gallery of Australia, National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, Questacon, and Royal Australian Mint.
