• Beam continues its partnership with Adelaide Fringe, as the festival’s official e-mobility partner

[17 February 2022]  As Mad March approaches, leading micromobility company Beam has partnered with local South Australian host Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello and Fringe artists to launch 'Stay Safe, Ride Kind over Mad March' - a safety campaign aimed at educating riders over festival season.

Beam continues its partnership with Adelaide Fringe for the third consecutive year, with ‘Stay Safe, Ride Kind’ to form a key part of educating visitors and locals hitting the streets about safe riding over Mad March.

As Fringe’s official e-mobility partner, priority Beam parking spots will be set up at key festival events, with Beam’s operations team prioritising popular festival locations such as Gluttony, Garden of Unearthly Delights and Bartels Road as priority deployment zones.

Cosi will host two Beam Safe Academies over the festival duration, on Thursday March 10 and Friday March 18, offering free training sessions for riders to test out their e-scooter skills in a supportive - and fun - environment.  

Riders can register their interest in attending the Academies in the Beam app under ‘Advanced Rider Training’.

The Beam Safe Academy program has been developed in partnership with national safety experts, and forms part of Beam’s community engagement efforts to educate riders on local riding rules and safe handling of e-scooters.

Riders will learn safe operating and manoeuvring skills, such as how to turn, brake and signal to other riders and pedestrians on a specially designed training circuit. All participants also receive $5 in free ride credit for completing the course.

Beam riders can also get five minutes of free ride time for completing the in-app Beam Safety Quiz, featuring education of the riding and parking rules.

Beam’s e-scooters have also recently launched within the City of Unley, newly covering the suburbs of Unley, Goodwood, Hyde Park, Wayville, Parkside, Fullarton, Highgate, Malvern, Unley Park, Kings Park, Millswood, Black Forest, Everard Park and Glandore.

Beam will also invest in 24-hour Safety Ambassadors on the streets throughout Adelaide Fringe, engaging with riders and encouraging safe riding.

“The Beam Safe Academies form part of Beam’s major safety education program, as Beam works alongside the local inner-Adelaide Councils and police authorities to enforce the riding rules.“
